The Hamsun Days 2026: The ring ended! 

The Hamsun Days invites you to a literary and cultural festival at Hamarøy in August 2026. This year's festival is titled The Ring is Over!

The audience can experience a comprehensive literary seminar that lasts for a day and a half, with strong academic contributions and several prominent Hamsun scholars. The seminar provides space for in-depth study, discussion, and new perspectives on the author's work.

As a central part of the festival, there will also be a celebration at Hamsund's childhood home. The art program is broad, with contributions from both Norwegian and international artists, and puts literature in dialogue with other artistic expressions.

The festival is held every other year at the Hamsun Center, and brings together the public, artists and professional community in unique surroundings.
