Nordlandsmuseet often receives inquiries from people who want to donate objects or photos to our collection. We greatly appreciate it.

In the form on this page you can enter information about the object you want to give to the museum. You can also upload one or more images here. This will make it easy for us to assess whether the object is relevant to adding to the Nordlandsmuseet's collection.
The collection team at Nordlandsmuseet will conduct an assessment of the object being offered. The offeror will be notified after the decision has been made. The team will assess each gift according to:
Whether the object is in line with the museum's collection plan and/or will supplement our existing collections.
Historical value of the object.
Whether we already have several similar objects in the museum's collection.
Whether the object needs conservation and/or special storage.
The size of the object in volume and/or quantity.
Nordlandsmuseet's conditions for accepting the gift:
Upon acceptance, Nordlandsmuseet receives full, unlimited and legal control over the object(s).
Nordlandsmuseet only accepts donations from the legal owner, or with the authority of the legal owner.
As a general rule, Nordlandsmuseet does not accept gifts where the offeror invokes a reservation (clause).
