    The Jekt Trade Museum

    The Jekt Trade Museum tells the story of the Jekt and coastal trade that connected Northern Norway to the rest of Europe for centuries. The centerpiece of the exhibition is Anna Karoline, the world's only preserved original Nordland Jekt. Named Museum of the Year 2024 by the Norwegian Museums Association.

    Batterie Dietl

    Battery Dietl on Engeløya in Steigen is one of Europe's largest coastal fortifications from World War II. It housed three large cannons with a range of 56 km. One of the bunkers is now a museum with original installations and inscriptions on the walls.

    Ørnes Trading Post is one of the trading posts that once lay along the northern Norwegian coast. Three buildings remain from an original complex of 12 to 14 houses, including the old bakery and forge.

    A short path from the E6 takes you to Kjelvik, a Sami homestead in Sørfold Four siblings lived here together until the last one passed away in 1967. The museum hosts welcome visitors and tell the story of the people who lived here.

    Gildeskål Medieval Church

    Sulitjelma Mining Museum

    Sulitjelma Mining Museum is located in the city's first industrial area, with the old copper smelter from 1899 and the power plant from 1893. The collection covers all aspects of mining, from machinery and labor movements to mineralogy.

    Beiarn Folk Museum

    Beiarn Folk Museum is located in a historic rectory from 1857, with 12 authentic farm buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries. The collection is built around the Gustav Moldjord collection, assembled by a young man who began collecting objects from the municipality at the age of 18.
