Lecture: 200 years of love for beauty!

  • Steigen Folk Museum 12 Prestegårdsveien ENGELØYA , Nordland, 8289 Norway (map)

There are some tough garden plants that have adorned both small and large gardens in the harsh climate of Northern Norway. Through generations they have been passed down along with stories of people, gardens and events, and have become part of the Northern Norwegian cultural heritage.

Sirkka Seljevold has worked with traditional plants in the Tromsø Arctic-Alpine Botanical Garden for over twenty summers. She will show pictures and talk about the toughest old garden perennials, bulb flowers and rare plants collected from old gardens in Northern Norway – perhaps as inspiration for your own garden.
