Right by the sea with the mountains in the background, amidst the spectacular natural landscape of Bodøsjøen Open-air museum, located The Jekt trade museum . A museum that tells the story of the raw coastal culture, and the story of how the jets brought Northern Norway and the rest of Europe together. As a museum host, you will be a key person between the story we tell and the products we offer.

As a museum host at The Jekt trade museum You will perform a number of important tasks. You will be based in the café, but also contribute as a guide/mediator in the exhibition. We are looking for someone who sees the big picture of working at a museum, where everything we offer is connected to the story we are going to tell.

We are looking for someone who will be a good host for all our guests, and these are the tasks you will perform:

  • Information/tour of the exhibition 

  • Focus on selling tickets to the exhibition and goods in the museum shop

  • Hospitality work such as cashiering, cleaning, telephone and event management

  • Handling of cash settlements and cash

  • Opening and closing of the museum

  • Rotation - evening and weekend work must be expected

Qualification requirements

  • Good communication skills, both in Norwegian and English – multiple languages ​​are a plus

  • History enthusiast

  • Familiar with café and catering work

  • Initiative and responsible

  • Happy to collaborate with other people, but also work independently

  • You must be 18 years of age or older.

  • The position is remunerated according to the National Agreement for Museums and Other Cultural Institutions.
