The exhibition Chronology of Urgencies presents artworks by Elle-Hánsa (Sami name), Keviselie (artist name) and Hans Ragnar Mathisen (Norwegian name) from the collection of Riddu Duottar Museat (RDM).
The exhibition is a chronological presentation of a small selection of Mathisen's works from the early 1970s to the present day, including his recent collaboration with Taiwanese, Tromsø-based artist Lin Pei-Han. The chronology of the artistic production is closely intertwined with the struggle for indigenous rights, and the exhibition invites the audience to reflect on Sami cultural heritage and Sami art.
The film The Cartographer by fellow artist Marek Ranis is included in the exhibition and highlights Mathisen's work with maps of Sami areas.
The exhibition can be visited during the museum's regular opening hours and is included in the regular ticket.
