Guided tour of Sjønstå farm

Join us on a tour through 361 years of life and history at Sjønstå Farm!

Tuesday 8 September at 17.00.
Tickets must be purchased in advance via www.fticket.no
Meet at the bridge at the People's House at 5:00 PM.

‍As we walk between the houses in the protected cluster farm, you will hear the stories hidden behind the walls. Who lived here? How did they live? And how did life on the farm change over the generations?

On the tour you will meet the people who lived and worked on Sjønstå. You will hear about the farm's origins, the farms and houses that were built – and about the major changes that affected the farm people. From tenants to freeholders, and later tenant farmers when Sulitjelma Grubers Aktiebolag bought the areas in the late 1880s.

Along the way, you will also gain insight into how Sjønstå Farm and its unique cultural heritage have been preserved to this day.

The tour is led by museum curator Lasse Frøshaug, who has researched the history of Sjønstå Farm.
