Hear about the era of jet skis, life along the coast, and the dangers the sea brought with it

You will start the evening with the 150th anniversary of the jetty Anna Karoline. Boatbuilder Ulf Mikalsen will take you back to the time of jetty sailing, giving you an insight into life along the coast and the dangers the sea brought with it.

Get closer to the people and life in the coastal community

In the restaurant Vengen Skafferi, the story of the coast continues through a new perspective. In Regine Normann's debut novel Krabvaag from 1905, we get up close and personal with the people and life in the coastal community. Professor emerita Liv Helene Willumsen leads us into Normann's literary world, while Gøril Karlsen and local readers give voice to selected texts from the novel. Ann-Iren Hansen ties the stories together with song and music.

A menu created especially for the anniversary evening

Throughout the evening, six dishes inspired by coastal culture and the history of the yekte voyage will be served. Vengen Skafferi takes as its starting point the raw materials from the north and the goods the yekte brought back from Bergen, and brings them together in a modern menu created especially for the anniversary evening.

ÂŤ The evening moves through the game and literature, the stories and music, the history and tastes. And with Anna Karoline as the common thread through it all. Âť
