Bodø City Museum
Opening hours during the period: 11:00-16:00
As part of Sami language week, the City Museum presents i Bodø a pop-up exhibition with duodji by Kirsi Máret Paltto.
Duodji is the Sami tradition of creation and encompasses a wide range of practical, artistic and cultural expressions. Materials, techniques and forms are closely linked to place, tradition and knowledge that is passed down between generations.
In this pop-up exhibition, Kirsi Máret Paltto presents a selection of works that provide an insight into duodji and how the tradition is practiced and developed today. The exhibition gives the public the opportunity to encounter Sámi duodji and reflect on how traditional knowledge continues to develop and find new forms of expression.
