Guided tour of Meløy village museum
Meløy The village museum takes you back to an important chapter in local history. You will learn about the development of the school, the lives of the students and the everyday lives of the fishermen. Walk through historic classrooms in an authentic school building from 1923, and gain an insight into what schooling and boarding life was like for children in the village. The children stayed at the school for 14 days before going home to their families.

Prices for guided tours on request
Weekdays 8:00 AM–4:00 PM: NOK 90 per person, minimum 5 paying guests.
Groups of less than 5 people still pay a minimum of NOK 450.
Children have free entry.
In the evenings and on weekends: basic price NOK 2,500 plus NOK 70 per person.
Facilities
Free parking on the museum grounds. Outdoor area: Path to door, otherwise no universal design. Entrance doors: The long staircase and high thresholds prevent wheelchair users from visiting the building. Toilets are unfortunately not universally designed. - Toilets are unfortunately out of service in 2026. Dining area: It is possible to sit outside in the garden during the summer months, but it may be difficult to get to the counter to place an order. Allergy labeling in the cafes. The exhibitions are not universally designed, and therefore difficult for people with reduced mobility to visit. It may be challenging for the elderly. The facility is not adapted for the visually or hearing impaired.
