Tasting menu and lecture "Wild plants in the north" with Bente Rød Larsen

What did people in Northern Norway eat before store shelves were full of fruit and vegetables year-round? How did they find food through long winters, and what knowledge of nature made it possible to survive?

In connection with the launch of the book "Wild Plants in the North", Kjerringøy invites trading post for a different lecture on September 5th, in collaboration with author and collector Bente Rød Larsen.

Through her work on the book, Bente has explored how nature has been a vital resource for generations before us – knowledge of the landscape, plants and seasons. Based on this knowledge, the kitchen at Kjerringøy has trading post in collaboration with Bente, created a tasting menu where wild plants play the main role.

Bente gathers the raw materials, and Kjerringøy trading post transforms them into tasty dishes according to recipes from the book.🍃
The event will take place in the conference room at Kjerringøy. trading post , and Bente will be here to talk about the book and answer questions while you taste the dishes.

The tasting dishes will be laid out like a buffet, so you can enjoy the dishes while Bente talks about the book.
