Fauske Folk Museum is open Tuesday to Saturday 11:00 AM–4:00 PM from June 16 to August 15.
The café in Leivsethuset is open every Wednesday from the 1st to the 29th. July 11:00-15:30.
Nice people and nice hats
Throughout the summer you can experience the exhibition "Fine people and fine hats", with a wide selection of hats from the museum's collection. Here you will find everything from bonnets to silk hats, from top hats to fedoras. You can also sit as a hat model in the museum's old photo studio. The exhibition is suitable for both children and adults, and the texts are in Norwegian and English. Guides are available in Norwegian and English.
Café and summer workshop for children
Every Wednesday from the 1st to the 29th. July , 11:00–15:30, there is a café in Leivsethuset selling, among other things, marble cake, Nordlandslefse and cured meats. From 11:00 to 12:00 there is a summer workshop for children from 4 years old. Price NOK 60, all materials included. Children under 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

1. July — We make butterflies and caterpillars
8. July — We weave our own little fabric from rags
15. July — We make mini houses out of tin cans
22. July — We nail our own wooden peg
29. July — We are building our own sailboat
Children's museum experience
Every Thursday from the 2nd to the 23rd. July , at 12:00, we take the children to Knurvikhuset to learn about everyday life in a fishing and farming family. What kind of work did the children have to do? And what exactly is a skårkunge? The visit includes a taste of flatbread and stockfish. Suitable for children from 5 to 12 years. Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
Children NOK 60, adults NOK 10. Tickets must be purchased in advance at fticket.no as there are limited places. Meet at the museum shop in Rødbrakka 10 minutes before start.
Dates: 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd. July at 12:00.
Lecture: Minken Kristensen — a lady for her hat
Thursday 30. July At 11:30 a.m., museum curator Lasse Frøshaug will give a lunchtime lecture about Fauske's own hat shop and businesswoman Minken Kristensen. The lecture will feature stories of hardship, fashion and creativity. Tickets include admission to the hat exhibition. Adults NOK 90, seniors/students NOK 70, children free. Tickets can be purchased at the door. The lecture is in Norwegian.
