The story of Vebjørn Tandberg is the story of a visionary northerner, an industrial adventurer and the man behind one of Norway's most famous brands.

From growing up in Bodø and studies at NTH (NTNU), led to the establishment of Tandberg Radiofabrikk. What started with just three employees grew into a Norwegian industrial adventure with a total of 3,100 employees. The Tandberg name eventually became known far beyond Norway's borders. Radios, tape recorders and other electrical equipment were praised for their quality, technical innovation and good design. The products found their way into the homes and studios of some of the world's biggest music stars of the time.

The adventurous story had a tragic ending. Vebjørn Tandberg died in 1978, the same year that Tandberg Radiofabrikk went bankrupt.
Yet the story doesn't end there.
48 years after his death, Vebjørn Tandberg's legacy still lives on.

Per Roos Dalen is the chairman of the board of Foreningen Tandbergerne – an association founded in 2010, with the purpose of collecting and preserving objects, documents and the history of Vebjørn Tandberg and his life's work. The collection consists of Tandberg products from the period 1933-1978, including radios, TVs and tape recorders.
