Join a tour of the Sulitjelma Mining Museum and hear about the people who built an entire community around the copper mines. The collections cover all aspects of the mining community — minerals, labor movement, transportation history, and sports.

Take the original mining locomotive 1.6 kilometers into Sulitjelmafjellet and experience a glimpse of Sulitjelmafjellet’s 100-year mining history. The visit begins with a brief introduction to the mines in the area and the foundation stone. You will then be transported into the mountain, where experienced guides share stories about mining and life as a miner in the 1900s.
Guided tour of Knut Hamsun's childhood home
In the childhood home you are greeted by a narrator who invites you to join him for a story telling session around the table over a cup of coffee. The story is about Hamsun's journey from his birthplace in Gudbrandsdalen, to his upbringing in Hamarøy and teenage life in Nordland, until he took the step into the world at the age of nineteen to become a writer.
Guided tour of The Jekt Trade Museum for schools and kindergartens
Together with the only originally preserved Nordlandjekta at the center of the exhibition, it invites The Jekt Trade Museum students to take a deep dive into a world we don't recognize today. The exhibition has several activities for the little ones — tying a boatman's knot, dressing up in costumes in "Bergen", loading stockfish with the lifting boom and trying out the museum's fishing game.
Guided tour of Sjønstå farm for schools and kindergartens
A tour of Sjønstå Farm takes you through the farm's history, from its origins in 1665, through life as fishing farmers, the encounter with industry, the exodus in the 1900s, and up to the present day. We adapt the content to the age level of the group.
Guided tour of Meløy village museum
Meløy The village museum takes you back to an important chapter in local history. You will learn about the development of the school, the lives of the students and the everyday lives of the fishermen. Walk through historic classrooms in an authentic school building from 1923, and gain an insight into what schooling and boarding life was like for children in the village. The children stayed at the school for 14 days before going home to their families.
Guided tour of the City Museum in Bodø for schools and kindergartens
The City Museum in Bodø is located in the middle of Bodø city center, in a listed building from 1903. On the tour, students will see the exhibition about Bodø's industrial history on the first floor, a changing exhibition of Sami art on the second floor, and the historic dry aquarium in the basement — also listed by the Norwegian Ministry of Cultural Heritage. Outside, there is also a Sami gamm.

Architecture walk at the Hamsun Center
Our guide takes you through the nooks and crannies of the building, into Hamsun's literature and upbringing. Hamarøy , and shows how architect Steven Holl created what he calls "a hamsun figure in the architectural sense". Duration 30 min to 1 hour. Number of participants 15 to 25.
