Outside the City Museum in Prinsens gate stands a 3.55-meter-high stone block. It is a monolithic stone from the Early Iron Age, erected between 1,500 and 2,500 years ago.

In the Nordlandsmuseet collection we find M/B Teisten, a motorized eight-ring and a unique example of the transition from traditional northern Norwegian boatbuilding to modern motorized fishing. She is physical evidence of one of the most dramatic changes in Norwegian fishing history.

Large, pointed, and deadly, hatpins were effectively open stabbing weapons in public. The newspapers were full of stories of people being stabbed in the face, and in the worst case, in the eye.

"I am angry with myself for the collection, but it cannot be undone," Knut Hamsun wrote about his only collection of poems, The Wild Choir from 1904. It is a harsh judgment of his own poetic work, but one he has largely come to share in since. Hamsun's attempts to work outside the novel genre have consistently been met with a certain coolness.

A display case from the 1880s lay ready to be burned on a scrap heap in Bodø A random passerby stopped, looked closer, and saved what is now one of the main objects in the Made in Bodø exhibition.

In the Nordlandsmuseet collection there is a rune bar from Bjørsvik in Nordfold in Steigen The object entered the museum's collection in 1976.

Large boat house from 2019. It was built in a collaboration between Nordlandsmuseet and Bodøsjøen Network. In the winter it houses the Coastal Team's five-member team and in the summer we use it for various events.

From about 1800. From Sundby/Brenne in Saltdal . Set up in Bodøsjøen in 1939. A food storage shed is a building for storing food.

In this mill from Nordskott there were three carvings of jects. The jects are carved into the wood with a knife. On the bench next to the millstone itself, there is a carving of a jekt with a mainsail with four bonnets, and the wing is raised up, as they were on the old yachts.
